Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton
Att: Cathy Calhoun, Regional Representative
Hanley Federal
Building, Room 111

P.O. Box 7378

Dear Cathy,
I called and left a
couple of messages for you. Hadn’t
heard anything and was starting to get concerned. We would like the Senator to sponsor a Family Rights Act and
the first step would be reviewing our proposed draft and finding out what looks
good, and what might be a problem. I
think some one-on-one meetings could be very productive in getting that done.
Once that is done, and I’m
sure we may have some items of difference.
I can bring that list to our membership to get their response to what the
rationale was.
I hope the Senator will
treat this as priority item and give you the time necessary to be responsive. I
can meet with you at your earliest convenience.
Best regards,
John Murtari

P.S.
Just wanted you to know that I did read the book “It Takes a
Village.” I had heard so much
about it on both sides that I just wanted to read it myself. I was encouraged by
what she said as a reflection of her attitude towards children issues.
