======================================================================

Folks,

This message contains new information on two issues:
1. An appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court
2. Local organizational meeting near Syracuse, NY.

POTENTIAL ACTION FROM U.S. SUPREME COURT
----------------------------------------
There is a chance for action from the Supreme Court
of the United States on some of the Kids-Right actions
we desire:

        * Strong presumption of joint custody.
        * Ability to request a jury when the parent
          child relationship is threatened.

It is an admitted LONG shot. A member will be filing
a "WRIT OF CERTIORARI" to the U.S. Supreme Court on
these very issues. For those of you unfamiliar with
the process and what this means -- details are at the
web site under Court Action, http://www.kids-right.org/

Briefly, a "Writ of Certiorari", is how someone attempts
to get the Supreme Court to hear their case. It can only
be requested after all state appeals have been exhausted.

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED. Other groups are allowed to
submit "Friend of the Court" briefs at this same time.
They must be submitted by an attorney. The professional
literature indicates that these optional briefs can be
very influential in getting the Court to take a case.

FIRST ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING SCHEDULED
--------------------------------------
Kids-Right has been a group primarily associated with the
Internet -- the next step will be organizing some local
groups. On December 2nd, Wednesday, a meeting will be
held at the public library in Baldwinsville, NY (just
north of Syracuse). The meeting will start at 7pm,
anyone interested in working to change the system is
welcome. Contact John Murtari for details:
