======================================================================

Just wanted to alert everyone that I am no longer in Custody, but plan
on picketting again on Wednesday at the Onondoga County Courthouse
at 11 AM (Nov 17). As part of my original protest I was arrested for
trespass
on Thursday (Nov 11) at the Syracuse Police Department and held in jail
that night.
http://www.kids-right.org/protest_dm.htm

I was arraigned in front of Judge Merrill, a Syracuse City Court Judge,
around noon on Friday. I told him I was trying to gain an equal
relationship
with my son and hoped that staying in Jail would encourage officials to
investigate my case. The Judge did not approve of my methods and
released me. He also told me that if I returned to trespass again I would
be held in Contempt of Court (which was fine with me).

Then a rather bizarre and disturbing sequence began. A shift change
had occurred at the police department. I explained the protest to them
and never acted in a threatening manner. The new staff just refused to
do the arrest even though I was violating the order and trespassing.

They told me to "just leave, or we'll send you over to CPEP [a forced
psychiatric admission], and that will insure you never get any custody
of your child...we don't agree with how you are protesting ... so our advice
is just get out of here or we'll take you over there to the hospital..."

I told them I didn't agree with that. I was obviously not a threat to myself
or anyone else. They ended up bringing me to St. Joseph's in Syracuse.
I was interviewed by a physician and he told me, "... the police say you
were disturbed about a custody matter and wanted to come in to talk to
us..." I was amazed! I told the Doctor that was not true .... but I ended
up
spending the weekend in a "mental" ward until things got cleared up. I am
filing a complaint with the State Authorities. It was a spooky experience.

I will be spending the next few days just "recouping" -- and plan on
protesting
again on Wednesday; however -- this time I will take a small sign with Dom's
picture and his name and just picket in the Court House Lobby (which is
illegal and should result in arrest). A lawyer friend recommended this
approach
since there would be "more witnesses".

If any of you are in the Syracuse area and can help by just "hanging around"
the lobby Wednesday that would make me feel a lot "safer". Send
email to: jmurtari@thebook.com or call my office at,
315-635-1968, x-211 (I will be checking messages).
