Folks,

Today was a sunny day in Syracuse, NY -- about 60! Two
groups of parents came out to show their support for the
picket action. Three drove all night, about 7 hours, to get
here from Toledo, Ohio . . . they don't say "holy Toledo" for nothing!
A bit closer to home -- three more made the trip up from
the Binghamton area. Details will be posted at the site:

http://www.kids-right.org/protest_dm.htm

Not any of this was planned even a few short days ago. It was
nice to see "good things" happen and people take time off
from work and family to show support. The response in the
Court House has been great -- my nonaggresive approach has
resulted in sympathetic smiles from most of the staff (including
Sheriff Deputies). My message was very clear -- I AM HERE
BECAUSE I LOVE MY CHILD AND WANT TO PARTICIPATE MORE IN HIS LIFE
-- who could argue with that agenda!

Tomorrow will be the last day of the effort at the Court House.
I will be "walking" from about 10am-noon, and 2pm-4pm -- it
has been a bit tiring -- but worth the effort. Next week I
will try to "sacrifice my freedom" (i.e. get arrested and jailed),
in another nonviolent action.

Will this work in long run? I don't honestly know. But I
hope to document it and share my experience and lessons.

Keep the faith!
